TUTU Tutorial. Well, sort of. and DIY KID

this is not my kid
Today instead of listening to a bored kid whine about being too hungry to wait for dinner, I gave her a craft to do. She made a crinoline (ie. tutu) to go with her new dress. Sorry, there is no photo, Tee went to bed hours ago and we didn't get a picture. If you want to torture yourself search: 'DIY tutu'. Bleck! Wading through the mommy blogs is so exhausting!
There are apparently a lot of people making money on these tutus, P.G. has our very own tutu maker at the Farmer's Market! I am both intrigued and disgusted by these tutus, they are cute but the whole selling 'princess' girly things to kids makes me want to toss my guts.

I'm not going to go do up a proper tutorial because it's too easy and there are enough DIY tutu tutorials in the world already. Believe me.

You will need: elastic or ribbon, scissors, tulle (an old crinoline will do!), button (optional if using button-holed elastic like we did!)

WE: gathered our supplies, decided how long the crinoline should be, decided how long the elastic should be.

SHE: picked out tulle colours, picked out a button, picked out thread, knotted the tulle, tried it on.

ME:  cut the elastic, threaded the needle, knotted the thread, cut the tulle, demonstrated the 'lark's head knot'

I sifted through all the (mommy-bleck) 'lifestyle blogs' and found this video tutorial for you to watch if you need a little help.
